OK. You’re ready to claim your blog.
That’s great – I’m ready to help.
There’s a few things I need to make sure you know first. I want us both to be happy about this business, and the best way to work toward that is a statement of understanding. I’ll write it and you can read it. If you agree with everything here, click the right link below.
You have to know that I am absolutely in no way responsible for or a party to any dealings you have with Godaddy, except as stated right here on this page. My only connection with GoDaddy is through the affiliate link you’ll find on the next page, and that affiliation is strictly so I can get paid for the work I’m doing for you. If you go to GoDaddy any other way, I don’t get paid, and you don’t get my services for the price stated elsewhere on the this site. I’ll still be available to work for you, but it will cost you alot more.
You have to know that I am making no promises, implied or otherwise, about the services you’ll receive from me except as stated below. Once I’ve received your info and verified my credit with GoDaddy, this is what you can expect:
- I will log in to your GoDaddy account and set up the Wordpress and SQL software, which will allow you to have a blog. If it’s needed I’ll place your blog in its own subdomain, so obviously I’ll take care of creating the subdomain as well.
- I will upload the theme you have chosen and minimally set it up to include:
- 1. Install the plugins included in the current list. Some of these will require you to set up once they’re installed. I will set up the ones I can without you, but you should review them all to see what you’ve got.
2. Change the header image to one you provide, if applicable. Some themes don’t use header images. You will need to make sure that the header image fits in the space provided. In other words I won’t edit an image, but if you provide one that works, I’ll edit the theme to show it.
3. If we have reached an agreement beforehand, I will perform very slight editing to the css files included with your theme. This would include things like changing the background color and the font. Each theme is unique in its use of css, so each request for css editing will be looked at on a case by case basis. If you’ll want this, stop now and contact me to tell me what you need. I follow a certain schedule when I do this and css editing changes things. So let me know.
- Once your blog is ready(within about 12 hours) I’ll send you the login credentials and you can take control of your blog. You’ll want to login to GoDaddy and change your account password. You can trust me, but you’ll still sleep better if you do this.
The list of what I won’t do is so long I shouldn’t even address it here, but it includes and is not limited to:
Although I will provide your 1st post, which you may keep or delete as you choose, I will not provide any other content or creative ideas. I will not write your blog for you. I will not promise to read what you wrote nor to promote your site. I will not babysit you or your children. I will not be available at the drop of a hat to answer your emergency tweet, email or phone call(if you can get me to answer the phone at all). I do reply to every serious email and tweet(and even some not-so-serious), but it might take me a few hours, or days, depending on the circumstances.
So there you have it. Just to recap:
To get the special deal from me you have to click the affiliate link to GoDaddy on the next page and purchase your new domain and Deluxe hosting for a year. That’s gonna cost you somewhere around 80-85 dollars. You pay me nothing. When you’ve received your login credentials from GoDaddy, you’ll send that to me and I’ll get in there and do my work. When I’m done, I’ll send you the login for your blog and you’ll go behind me and remove my access to your GoDaddy account.
