I’ve been around this mess for over 20 years, and counting the Air Force years it’s been 30 and counting. I’ve got a pretty good handle on it now, but it wasn’t always that way. I remember when I first started trying to create myself on the web – it was more than just a bit confusing. But I forged onward, like a brick exploring a window, making just about every mistake you can make.
I’m here to help you avoid mistakes.
If you’re here, you’re thinking about setting up a new Wordpress blog, and you’re not sure you can do it alone. You’ve heard about Blogger arbitrarily deleting content and entire blogs with no notice. You’ve heard about the problems with comments on other services. You’ve decided the only practical solution is to own it yourself, but you’re not so sure how to go about it.
I want to help you get started, and get it right the 1st time. I’ve set up so many of these things that I can’t remember them all. I’ll stop just short of saying it’s easy, but there is a method to the madness and I have the method. There’s no need for you to experience the madness.
Free Professional Wordpress Setup
I’ll help you with the domain name and the hosting. I’ll install the Wordpress/SQL software on your hosted server. I’ll help you test drive and choose, and then install a Wordpress theme you like. (You’ll find about 20 of the best themes by clicking on Test Drive on the navigation bar above. When you’re ready, I’ll email login credentials to you for the Test Drive and you can check out both what your readers see, and what you will have to work with in the admin area.)
I’ll also install some absolutely necessary plugins. The list is dynamic, but you can see the current list by clicking the WHAT YOU GET link above. I’ll even do some minor editing of the header image, background colors and font if you want, to make your blog truly unique.
Once I’m done, you’ll have a fully functional Wordpress blog. You might want to install some widgets and stuff – it’s yours so go ahead.
I Gotta Get Something For All That
But I don’t have to get it from you.
I can get it through the affiliate link to GoDaddy. And that’s the catch: this all has to be a completely new and fresh setup, purchased through that link, or GoDaddy won’t pay me. And as much as I might want to, I can’t survive working for what I am charging you. If you want me to help you set up your site for that price (FREE), you gotta do it this way.
The domain name registration and hosting plan for a year will cost you about 80-85 bucks. You will be paying that directly to GoDaddy when you create your account. Add to that the $0 you’ll be paying me and your site is going to cost you around $82 for the 1st year, which is a prettyreally good deal.
Wordpress Setup For Free
I’m not even going to charge you the regular 45 bucks. You’ll get these services for free, and I’ll just live off the affiliate commission. This is a new site and it’s not unheard of to offer some kind of grand opening special, so that’s mine. I’ll do all that stuff I mentioned above for free. All you have to do is use my affiliate link, located in the Claim Yours section. (If you’ve already got a domain and hosting and still want my help, $45 is all it takes for a simple installation.)
So check around a bit. Click some links on the navbar above. When you’re ready to get going just drop me a line using the contact form and I’ll send you the login credentials for your TEST DRIVE. You’ll have completely unrestricted access to that site and can check out different themes, install plugins and widgets and generally just do whatever you want with it.
